ABOUT US
What do we do?
Why do we do it?
We are passionate about two things: Africa and Bitcoin. As fellow Bitcoiners, we know that you would prefer to pay for your African adventure with Bitcoin than with fiat. However, we realised that it’s difficult for Bitcoiners to find information on safari planning and booking services that accept Bitcoin. Understandably, safari companies’ focus is on the experiential services that they provide, and those that do accept Bitcoin often have the payment information tucked away in an obscure corner of their website. So, we have done the hard work for you. No more Googling and getting frustrated with hitting dead-ends. In addition to making your life easier, we also want to support safari businesses that accept Bitcoin. Our collective vision of the world running on Bitcoin will be realised one business at a time. We are just playing our part. That is why we also provide information on African conservation and community Bitcoin projects, as well as payment tools. We would love you to support African Bitcoin ecosystems while exploring the continent’s beautiful natural ecosystems.
Our logo explained
Did you recognise the African animal in our logo? It’s a honey badger, one of the toughest and most fearless of animals in the African bush. They have been known to attack animals much bigger than themselves, including leopards, lions, and buffalo, in defence, and are not afraid to kill and eat a deadly snake for breakfast, even after being bitten. Hence the meme “Honey badger don’t care”. Bitcoin has been referred to as the honey badger of money. You can see why. You just can’t kill it, and even when it seems to be done-for, it always recovers and keeps surging forward. And it’s also fearlessly eating into the market share of assets much bigger than itself, including gold, real estate and stocks. Honey badgers are also smart. They are quick to learn and solve problems, as you soon find out if you try to badger-proof your foodstuffs when camping in the bush ! Likewise, the honey badger of money solves one of the biggest problems of our time – broken money.
